Falla eléctrica relegó al “Burro” Rodríguez al lugar 48° en la clasificación
general
El piloto del Tamarugal XC Rally Team era el segundo chileno de la etapa
hasta 20 kilómetros antes de la meta.
Rompió batería, perdió dos horas, llegó en el lugar 78° y bajó en la
general, pero se mantiene entre los 50 mejores.
San Juan, 13 de enero de 2010.- Parecía una jornada de ensueño para el joven
debutante Claudio “Burro” Rodríguez. A 30 kilómetros del fin de la undécima
etapa marchaba 21°, pero una falla eléctrica lo alejó de la gloria.
Como nunca hasta ahora en el Dakar, rompió batería y debió esperar hasta ser
tirado por una cuadrimoto en los últimos 20 kilómetros.
Hasta el momento de la avería, Rodríguez marchaba como el segundo mejor
chileno después de Francisco “Chaleco” López y con amplia ventaja sobre los
otros nacionales Manuel Jamett y Felipe y Jaime Prohens.
“Iba súper bien y de repente la moto me empezó a ratear, doblo y se me apaga
y no anduvo más. Desarmé, pero me di cuenta que era batería y no había nada
que hacer. La empujé como cinco kilómetros, pero me cansé y decidí esperar a
que pasara algún chileno de los autos”, comentó el vallenarino desde San
Juan.
Pero fue un argentino quien le dio una mano al piloto del Tamarugal.
“Pasó un cuadri argentino, le pedí que me llevara y accedió a tirarme los
kilómetros que faltaban. Me di algunos porrazos, pero bien, pudimos llegar
que era lo importantes”, concluyó “Burro”.
Sin embargo, pese a la fatalidad, el agotamiento y al lugar 78° del día,
“Burro” se mantiene en buena posición en el 48° del escalafón y con
posibilidades de seguir ascendiendo en las siguientes tres etapas.
Por lo mismo, Rodríguez mantendrá su estrategia de andar fuerte, pero con
cuidado para preservar el físico y la moto en la recta final camino a Buenos
Aires.
La etapa de este jueves comprende el tramo entre San Juan y San Rafael, con
476 kilómetros de una desgastante especial y 320 kilómetros de enlace.

Power failure relegated the "El Burro" Rodriguez to place 48th in the
overall standings
The pilot Tamarugal XC Rally Team was the second Chilean stage up to 20
miles before the finish.
The battery broke, lost two hours, came in 78th place and dropped in the
standings, but remains among the top 50.

rookie Claudio "Burro" Rodriguez. A 30 miles from the end of the eleventh
