“Burro” Rodríguez sigue escalando: llegó 26° y subió al puesto 48 en la
clasificación
Lo del piloto del Tamarugal XC Rally Team ya es tendencia. Sumó una nueva
alza en rendimiento que lo deja entre los 50 mejores del Dakar.
“Voy mejorando día a día. La moto responde, el trabajo del equipo es bueno y
siento harta confianza”, planteó Rodríguez.
Iquique, 7 de enero de 2010.- La Husqvarna 450 de Claudio “Burro” Rodríguez
ya se acostumbró a atravesar el desierto a toda velocidad, y hoy lo hizo
otra vez para llegar en el puesto 26° y ascender al lugar 49 en la general.
“Esto está por sobre todas las expectativas que podía formarme antes de
correr. Pensaba terminar, y ya estoy entre los 50 mejores, lo que me tiene
muy feliz”, adelantó el piloto del Tamarugal XC Rally Team.
Pese a su corta edad, 21 años, “Burro” mantiene la calma, que es parte
importante de la estrategia planteada por el jefe del equipo, Omar
Campillay.
“Don Omar me dice que vaya con cuidado, revisamos la estrategia de carrera
todas las noches y sigo pensando en que terminar, a mi edad, es un buen
resultado y una buena proyección”, sentenció Rodríguez.
El piloto dijo estar satisfecho con el comportamiento de la moto Husqvarna
450, que ha respondido a la altura de la exigencia. “No me ha fallado ningún
día, aguanta en óptimas condiciones. La mecánica anda bien, salvo alguna
caída, pero nada más”.
Rodríguez lamentó también el accidente del piloto italiano Luca Manca, quien
se mantiene con riesgo vital tras caer en el inicio de la especial, y
reconoció que eso le podría pasar a cualquier por las velocidades a las que
se mueven en terrenos irregulares.
“Hay que confiar no más y avanzar sin miedo, pero con responsabilidad,
porque si uno se paraliza por accidentes de este tipo, mejor ni subirse a la
moto”, sentencio el vallenarino.
La especial de mañana será la más larga del trazado de este Dakar 2010, con
600 kilómetros para unir Iquique y Antofagasta.
