Javier Campillay termina la etapa más dura hasta el momento con
temperaturas de hasta 50 grados
Piloto del Tamarugal XC Rally Team terminó la prueba en el lugar 76 y
quedó 81° en la clasificación general en categoría autos.
“La camioneta y nosotros quedamos muy golpeados, pero enfilamos hacia
Chile con optimismo”, planteó el vallenarino.
La Rioja, Argentina, 4 de enero de 2010.- 52 grados llegó a marcar el
indicador de temperatura en el interior de la Ford F 150 Raptor del
Tamarugal XC Rally Team conducida por Javier Campillay, en la tercera
etapa del Dakar 2010, la que calificó como la prueba más dura hasta el
momento.
El piloto nacional se oía golpeado desde Fiambalá, paso que
antecedente la entrada a Chile de la caravana dakariana.
“Fue por lejos lo más difícil de este Dakar. No fue la más larga, pero
sí la más técnicas de las pruebas, con una temperatura altísima, que
en el caso de la camioneta llegó a marcar 50 grados en algunos
momentos, lo que fue muy agotador”, según Campillay.
El líder del equipo Tamarugal aseguró que hicieron todo para superar

trasera los retrasó más de tres horas, y trataron de recuperar terreno
sin arriesgar su permanencia en la carrera.
“Quedamos muy golpeados, al igual que la camioneta, pero nuestros
mecánicos están trabajando para que el ingreso a Chile sea el mejor
posible y podamos comenzar a superar nuestros tiempos”, adelantó
Campillay.
Además, celebró el rendimiento del piloto de motos del Tamarugal XC
Rally Team, Claudio Rodríguez, quien repuntó hasta el puesto 83° de la
clasificación general luego de rematar 82 en la tercera especial
cronometrada.
“El Burro anduvo bien, no se cayó lo que es muy importante. Está
cuidando la moto y respondiendo a la alta exigencia”, concluyó
Campillay, quien destacó que tras el abandono del chileno Rodrigo
Caballero, Rodríguez quedó como el piloto más joven de la competencia,
con 21 años.
La cuarta etapa marcará el ingreso del Dakar a suelo chileno, en
Copiapó, con una especial cronometrada de 203 kilómetros y 426 de
enlace.
