“Burro” Rodríguez subió al 43° de la clasificación general tras rematar 30°
en la etapa más larga de Dakar

“Es un gran logro…parecía que los 600 kilómetros no terminaban nunca y
aunque queda mucho Dakar, siento que ya he hecho algo importante”, sostuvo
el piloto de Vallenar.

Rodríguez fue penalizado por sobrepasar la velocidad límite previo al paso
por un check point.

Antofagasta, 8 de enero de 2010.- Feliz y satisfecho por la carrera que
viene desarrollando se manifestó Claudio “Burro” Rodríguez, tras llegar en
el lugar 30 de la etapa Antofagasta-Iquique.

Pese a que fue penalizado, el piloto vallenarino se ubicó en la posición 43
de la clasificación general, todo un logro pensando que entre sus cálculos
positivos estaba ubicarse entre los 100 mejores en la carrera más dura del
mundo.

Rodríguez calificó la etapa como muy dura y agotadora, en que “parecía que
los 600 kilómetros no terminaban nunca. Me pegué unos porrazos en los
primeros 80 kilómetros, y tuve que dosificar para recuperar energías”.

El hombre del Tamarugal XC Rally Team analizó su buen momento, destacando el
nivel en que se encuentra.

“Es un gran logro que no esperaba. El nivel que tengo me permite andar en
esos puestos. Ya estar entre los 50 mejores en la mitad de la carrera para
mí es una gran satisfacción”, recalcó “Burro”.

Para Rodríguez, la etapa de descanso estará dedicada a los masajes y a
esperar la visita de la Presidenta Michele Bachelet a los pilotos, a la que
se presentará como “el piloto más joven del Dakar”.

"Burro" Rodriguez rose to 43 ° of the overall standings after round off 30 °
