“Burro” Rodríguez quedó a una jornada de ser el más joven en terminar el
Dakar 2010

El vallenarino llegó 35° en la etapa de hoy, lo que le permitió avanzar un
puesto hasta el lugar 45° en la general.

“Burro” prefiere no adelantarse en balances, y esperar hasta estar en el
Obelisco.

Santa Rosa, 15 de enero de 2010.- No quiere que se lo coma la ansiedad, ni
pensar en el Obelisco, ni en cuando vuelva a Vallenar. Sólo en la última
especial de este Dakar en el que ha sido protagonista, y que podría
coronarlo como el más joven en terminar esta edición.

Claudio “Burro” Rodríguez alcanzó a estar entre los 20 de la etapa San
Rafael-Santa Rosa, pero remató 35°, debido a que su GPS se apagó en el
kilómetro 180, y de ahí debió navegar sólo con la hoja de ruta sin mayor
orientación y calculando los puntos de restricción de velocidad.

Aún así, el resultado lo hizo subir un puesto, hasta el lugar 45° y bien
podría escalar algún peldaño más en la especial que cerrará la edición 2010
de la carrera más dura del mundo.

“Burro” no tiene nervios a esta altura, pero no quiere marearse con
proyecciones. No en este punto.

“Vine con un objetivo súper claro, que era terminar la carrera. Lo estoy
haciendo, y mucho más arriba de lo que esperaba. Nuestros cálculos eran
estar entre los 100, y estoy entre los 50, en el puesto 45°, así que todo lo
que haga mañana tiene que ser ganancia”, aseguró el vallenarino.

Por lo mismo, anunció que saldrá a aprovechar su velocidad en una especial
rápida que pareciera no ser difícil, pero sin descuidar el trabajo de estas
dos semanas.

“Voy a seguir la estrategia: andar fuerte cuando se pueda y cuidar en los
tramos más complicados”, reveló el piloto.

Tampoco se confunde cuando está a punto de convertirse en el piloto más
joven en terminar esta versión del Dakar, con apenas 21 años.

“Va a ser una felicidad especial y espero que esta experiencia sea un buen
trampolín porque es una buena vitrina para los auspiciadores. Pero
tranquilo, esperé harto, queda un día y va a llegar”.

En la última especial del Dakar, los pilotos enfrentarán una pista rápida
entre Santa Rosa y San Carlos de Bolívar, para cronometrar 206 kilómetros.
Con enlaces de 501 kilómetros, los pilotos llegarán a Buenos Aires, punto
final del recorrido.
